What in heavens name am I doing?

Vista, Media Player and Ripping

Since losing my main music drive I’ve been re-ripping my CDs (over 1,000 of them) and have come to the conclusion that much as I like Windows Media Player, it’s a pile of pants. It regularly crashes, or “encounters a problem” in Microsoft speak, meaning I have to restart it and refind my place in the music I was listening too, which is often a long radio show. Vista’s “Problem Reports and Solutions” shows no solutions to install and the only information about other problems is a link to a problem caused by Flash Player. Way to go Microsoft; let’s highlight the single problem you once had with an old version of the Flash Player and ignore all your own problems. And there are problems, because if I view the history I see that WMP has “stopped working” 15 times over the last 5 days. A report has been sent, but that means nothing to me since no solution is forthcoming.
